Abstract

The development of software is an important aspect of modern technology, and to ensure that these technologies succeed, it is necessary to have good quality software produced. Test-driven development (TDD) is a popular approach that aims to improve software quality by writing tests before writing the actual code. A wide range of studies have been carried out on the effectiveness of TDD and there is a general lack of consensus regarding its impact on software quality. This review study used a systematic literature search to investigate the impact of Test-Driven Development (TDD) on software quality. Our results show that TDD and non-TDD approaches must be compared in developing software using a set of standardized measures.
